Runs like a girl

Monday’s workout

Weight: 168.8lbs

I went to the gym after work last night:

  • Treadmill: 3miles @ 32:51 — approx 350 calories burned.
  • Lat pulldowns: 50lbs @ 3×10. Very boring, couldn’t wait to be done.
  • Bent over rows: 12lbs @ 3×10. Weight too light. Up to 15lbs next time
  • Incline biceps: 12lbs @ 3×10. Heavy. Last set took a lot of effort.
  • Incline chest press: 12lbs @ 3×10. Good weight, might have been able to lift more. Try 15lb next time?
  • Upright rows: 12lbs @ 3×10. Good weight.
  • French press: 8lbs @ 3×10. Good weight.

I’d also planned on doing squats, but my knees were really sore. I guess after Saturday’s run in the park, and last night’s session on the treadmill, it’s been a bit of a shock to them after such a long period of inactivity.

As for my next workout, I’d planned on taking a capoeira class at lunch today, but it was too busy to get away on time to make it. To be honest, Im very intimidated by classes and am not sure if I’ll be able to do it. I’m still going to go and check it out next Tuesday.

I’ve also bought a new issue of Runner’s World in hopes of re-motivating myself into lacing up. I was talking with a girl at work about it, and a coworker said he could hook me up with a RR discount — which is sweet since I definitely need new shoes for this season. So tonight I’ll be doing 30-40 minutes on the elliptical at the gym, reading the new magazine.
